Tech Council Scholarships
The Innovation Valley Technology Council announced its plans today to offer two $2,500 scholarships for the 2008-2009 academic school year. The scholarships are intended to support undergraduate study for a student who is passionate about technology.
One scholarship will be offered to a graduating high school senior of public, private or home schools in Anderson, Blount, Campbell, Grainger, Hamblen, Jefferson, Knox, Loudon, Roane, Sevier, and Union Counties in Tennessee. One scholarship will be offered to a current undergraduate student of a local institution of higher education.
Student must have a current 3.0 minimum GPA to apply. The recipient must be admitted or enrolled in an accredited program at a local college or university.
Each scholarship award is for $2,500 and will be presented to the students and the local institution they will attend for the 2008-2009 academic year. If applicable, a member of the Innovation Valley Technology Council’s Executive Committee will present the scholarship to the student during their school’s recognition ceremony. In addition, the recipients will also be invited and recognized at an Innovation Valley Technology Council luncheon.

The Y-12 National Security Complex is a premier manufacturing facility dedicated to making our nation and the world a safer place. Operated by B&W Y-12 for the National Nuclear Security Administration, Y-12 plays a vital role in the Department of Energy's Nuclear Weapons Complex.
Y-12 helps ensure a safe and reliable U.S. nuclear weapons deterrent. The capabilities attained at Y-12 in performing weapons work uniquely qualify it to make critical contributions to other missions of national interest. While drawing on more than 60 years of manufacturing excellence, Y-12 is continually expanding its capabilities and preparing for the future.
Decades of precision work at Y-12 have created exceptional expertise in many areas, ranging from our basic defense mission to cyber security. Through such expertise and innovative technology, Y-12 protects both people and the environment and tackles new missions, including complementary work for other government agencies and private industry.
Cost for the meeting is $15 for Tech Council members, $25 for non-members, and $10 for students. Please prepay online to make check in easier or RSVP by close of business on Monday, April 21st to RSVP@tech2020.org or call 865-220-2020.
CIO Council
The CIO Council is a peer-to-peer network, where professionals with similar responsibilities can discuss issues of critical importance to their business. It is comprised of CIOs of companies in Knoxville and the surrounding area. In order for the group to remain a peer network, attendance will be by invitation only. If you know of someone who should attend, please feel free to forward their contact information to marlow@tech2020.org , so that we may add them to the invitation list.
CEO Council
The CEO Council is a peer-to-peer network for Presidents and CEOs of locally-owned companies, allowing them to share best practices. In order for the group to remain a peer network, attendance will be by invitation only. If you know of someone who should attend, please feel free to forward their contact information to marlow@tech2020.org, so that we may add them to the invitation list.
