It is now located on the Oak Ridge Turnpike in a newly renovated 42,000 sq. ft. facility. Nucsafe began its efforts in nuclear security in 1999, long before the horrific events of September 11, 2001. It is currently transitional between a growth stage and manufacturing company, committed to addressing the burgeoning Homeland and National Security markets throughout the world. Nucsafe designs and manufactures neutron and gamma ray detection systems for the surveillance, inspection and continuous monitoring of radioactive sources and, in particular, special nuclear materials containing fissile Uranium or Plutonium. 2007 saw a broadening of the company capabilities by the addition of the Scatter X-Ray Imaging (SXI) technology.
